Public Information Requests
The Texas Public Information Act (formerly the Texas Open Records Act) Chapter 552, Texas Government Code, establishes requirements for governmental bodies to respond to written requests for access and/or reproduction of public information. The Texas Public Information Act does not require governmental bodies to create new information, perform legal research, or to answer questions. The request must ask for records or information already in existence. The Denton County Transportation Authority will not comply with a standing request for information to be collected or prepared in the future. Please be advised that there is a charge for copies of public information in accordance with State law.
How to Submit a Request
Because the Texas Public Information Act is only activated by a written request for documents, all requests for copies of records must be in writing. Requests can be submitted in the following manner:
Mail request to: Public Information Officer, Denton County Transportation Authority, P.O. Box 96, Lewisville, Texas 75067
Fax request to: Public Information Officer at 972-316-6103
Submit "in person": 1955 Lakeway Dr., Suite 260, Lewisville, Texas 75057
