Fare Information

Appropriate fare media is required to board DCTA vehicles. We recommend planning for your trip by viewing the fare media information located below. Fare enforcement is conducted on board each vehicle. DCTA reserves the right to issue a citation or refuse service due to lack of proper fare media.

*Passengers may pay with cash or credit card when using the vending machines located on the rail platform for a local or regional pass. For a cashless way to travel, try the DCTA GoPass app. Tickets are also available at the customer service counter located at the Downtown Denton Transit Center (DDTC).

Local System fares are valid on the A-train, DCTA Connect Bus, North Texas Xpress and University of North Texas (UNT) Campus Shuttles. These fares are not valid for paratransit trips.

Regional System fares are valid on the A-train, DCTA Connect Bus, North Texas Xpress and University of North Texas (UNT) Campus Shuttles. Regional System fare is required for trips taken outside of the DCTA service area. Regional System Passes also offer access to fixed-route bus and rail services operated by DCTA, DART, the TRE and Trinity Metro. These fares are not valid for paratransit trips.

Some riders may qualify for GoZone eligible passes. For more information, visit our GoZone page.

*The Local AM Pass will be valid from start of service to 11:59 a.m., and the Local PM Pass will be valid from 12:00 p.m. to end of service.

**Reduced fares - Seniors (65+), persons with disabilities, Medicare cardholders and students (ages 6 to 18; students over the age of 14 must have a valid high school or DCTA issued ID). Children 5 and under can ride any DCTA vehicle for free, accompanied by parent or guardian.

***GoZone single riders are $1.50. Each additional GoZone passenger is $1.50. In Denton, for trips over 4 miles, the booking rider will be charged an additional $0.50 cents per mile up to a cap of $5.00.

**** The DDTC is closed on Saturdays, online ticket purchases with "Local Pickup at DDTC" as their selected shipping option will only be available for pick-up Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. - 6 p.m.

†Ten-pack passes - must be validated by a DCTA bus operator or self-validated by using a hole-punch to mark the month and day

Access Demand-Response fares can be purchased from the driver the day of the trip using cash, check or money order. They can also be purchased in advance at the Euline Brock Downtown Denton Transit Center (DDTC) or at the online ticket store. Access Demand-Response fares are valid on Access service only. Paratransit Certified passengers using Connect, Local System or Regional System can ride free on DCTA or DART with their valid paratransit photo ID, but passengers will need to purchase a reduced pass to ride Trinity Metro.

All DCTA passes are non-transferrable, non-refundable and will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

Frisco Demand Response

Frisco Demand-Response fares are divided into two categories: Local and Regional trips. Local trips are for travel within Frisco. Regional trips are for travel outside of Frisco.

All DCTA passes are non-transferrable, non-refundable and will not be replaced if lost or stolen.

Collin County Rides (for residents of Allen & Fairview)

Collin County Rides are calculated at time of scheduling a trip using a miles fee, plus a minutes fee plus a drop fee.

Customers will pay 25% of trip costs until they spend $125 in a calendar month, at which point they will be charged 100% of the trip cost. In the example above, you (the customer) would be responsible for $3.86. A trip cost estimate will be given at the time of scheduling.
