DCTA follows the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 eligibility standards for paratransit services. The agency has various mobility options to make it easier for seniors and persons with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act to use our system. Even though currently our vehicles, facilities, stations and stops have accessibility features that help make traveling easier for seniors and people with disabilities, we always continue to seek out ways to incorporate new or upgrade existing accessibility features.

The following is an overview of the accessible services and features currently available to people who cannot independently use DCTA’s bus or rail because of a physical, cognitive, or visual disability are eligible for paratransit service.

Access Vehicle Features

Free Travel Training Program
DCTA’s travel training program gives you the skills, confidence and independence to get where you need to go by providing personal, step-by-step instructions to senior citizens and those with disabilities on how to effectively use the DCTA system. Click here to learn more!
