Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) operates the A-train commuter railroad on a rail corridor owned by Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) through a transportation access and easement agreement.
As a result, DCTA requires all contractors, business owners, or persons requesting access to enter the A-train railroad corridor Right of Way (ROW) to first obtain a permit from DART, and then complete subsequent safety certification training and coordination to obtain a final approval from DCTA.
To obtain a limited Right of Entry Permit, download the full process instructions here.
DART’s application process is located at: https://www.dart.org/about/rightofway.asp
After obtaining a DART permit, DCTA also requires the following, which can be obtained using the links below:
- Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) Certification training
- Roadway Worker-In-Charge (RWIC) flagman request form
DART must approve all access, activities, and the performance of any work prior to entry into the property.
All persons requesting access to the A-train commuter railroad corridor must submit a standard license application with DART and secure an approved agreement before any work begins.
