The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) is joining the League of American Bicyclists and many organizations across the U.S. in celebrating Bike to Work Day by providing free rides all day to riders who bring their bikes on board select DCTA services on Friday, May 17. Bike to Work Day is an annual, nation-wide event that encourages people to try biking as a part of their commute during National Bike Month.
DCTA Services You Can Ride Free
Passengers who bring their bikes on board can ride the following DCTA services for free:
- A-train Commuter Rail
- Connect Bus (Denton and Lewisville)
- Highland Village Connect Shuttle
- Denton Enterprise Airport & Lewisville Lakeway On-Demand
- University of North Texas (UNT) Campus Shuttles
- North Central Texas College (NCTC) Campus Shuttles
Passengers who plan to transfer to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will need to purchase or have valid fare for that portion of their trip.
Simple DCTA Bike Tips
Riders can visit our website for tips on how to safely bring a bike on our busses or train. Most DCTA buses are equipped with a bike rack located on the exterior front of the bus. Passengers need to make sure the vehicle can safely accommodate a bicycle, then they will be allowed to ride DCTA free with the Bike to Work Day promotion.
