LEWISVILLE, TX, January 8, 2025 – The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) will perform a series of upgrades to the A-train railroad signal system on January 11 and January 18. During this construction, DCTA will implement a bus bridge, as the A-train cannot travel between Control Points while they are out of service.
- January 11, 2025: Train service will operate between the Downtown Denton Transit Center Station and the Highland Village/Lewisville Lake Station, as well as between the Hebron Station and the Trinity Mills Station. A bus bridge will be between the Highland Village/Lewisville Lake Station, Old Town Station, and Hebron Station.
- January 18, 2025: Train service will operate between the Downtown Denton Transit Center Station and the Old Town Station. A bus bridge will be in place between Old Town Station and Hebron Station, as well as between Old Town Station and Trinity Mills Station.
Test trains will run on Sunday, when no service is scheduled, to ensure the system is fully operational. Drivers should expect gate activations when trains pass through crossings, as during a normal service day. Performing these upgrades on consecutive weekends minimizes disruption to our customers and helps DCTA to meet the future needs of our Member Cities. However, passengers should expect impacts and delays when the bus bridges operate.
